With the directional laser probe by Oertli, the movability of the laser fiber opens up access far in to the periphery and allows the setting of a whole row of laser points by the finest movement of your fingertips. The Research Institute of Ophthalmology, Egypt and Kasr Ainy School of Medicine, Cairo University have published a study on the HFDS procedure. The study shows that HFDS achieves a significant intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction and it is a safe and promising minimally invasive procedure for patients with chronic open-angle glaucoma.
