Oertli silicone application sets enable fast injection and extraction of silicone oil *. There are two types of visco cannulas for trocar-based injection and extraction: snap-lock and universal cannulas.

Universal visco cannulas
Universal visco cannulas are held manually (without mechanical locking) and can be used for gauge sizes 23G, 25G, 27G *.

Snap-lock visco cannulas
A mechanism allows the snap-lock visco cannula to be simply locked into the 23G Oertli trocar. This creates a reliable connection, so the cannula does not need to be held in place *.

Combined with the Oertli Caliburn trocar system, trocar-based visco cannulas are designed for maximum performance. During their development, care was taken to ensure that the silicone application sets can be connected to Oertli’s surgical platforms easily and in a user-friendly manner.

Thanks to the twist-lock adapter, pre-filled silicone oil syringes made of glass can also be connected to the Oertli silicone application sets and surgical platforms 1. This eliminates the need to transfer silicone oil, speeding up the workflow for the surgical team. The surgeon controls the injection and extraction speed directly using the pedal *.
