INTRAOCULAR ILLUMINATION

Illumination is of invaluable importance in eye surgery. The choice of the right light source is decisive for achieving high-quality intra-ocular illumination and simultaneously preventing phototoxic impacts and damages to the eye.

Using chandelier illumination provides a true bimanual manipulation during vitreoretinal surgery. Our trocar based solution offers a one-step access for easy and quick connection.

There are many different surgical situations in which chandelier illumination is beneficial for improving intraocular visibility and thereby achieving favourable surgical outcomes. It facilitates clear intraocular visualization and the surgeon can perform manipulations bimanually and efficiently.

Positioning technique for the flexible chandelier

Dr. Martin Schmid from the LUKS Lucerne shows how to position the flexible chandelier with his own technique. Firstly, you need to ensure a proper snap-lock connection to position the flexible chandelier fiber with a sterile strip. Then, create a flap on the middle of the sterile strip and an easy repositioning of the chandelier fiber in all directions will be possible.

MAKING THE DIFFERENCE WITH POWERFUL FLUIDIC CONTROL AND PERFECT VISIBILITY

«The OS 4 was my first vitreoretinal surgical platform with which I have progressed. Simultaneous control of both vacuum and flow with SPEEP provides excellent stability and minimizes intraocular pressure fluctuations. Solutions for fluidic control, safety and cutting efficiency in Oertli's platforms allow rapid, secure and continuous progress for both junior and expert vitreoretinal surgeons. The flexible chandelier gives good intraocular illumination in all surgical situations and permits precise maneuvers in bimanual surgery D
